Rachel Lee
Senior Vice President
Prior to her career in venture, Rachel was a top staffer in Taiwan’s central government. She managed investments in SMEs and achieved outstanding returns, and was also involved in pushing through major financial reforms. These experiences give her deep insight into policy trends and how to leverage public resources. At ITIC she looks mostly at precision machinery, optoelectronics and automotives.
What’s the greatest value you bring to startups?
What gets me excited is working closely with startups to expand – to grow their strategic partnerships, their product portfolio and their market. My background in government, and the fact that I managed the government’s funding for startups, also mean that I know how to bring in public resources to support founders.
To you, what’s the most important trait of a good VC?
To look past the noise and see people’s character – because often the success and failure of startups is about people.
